Chambray

Dress- Forever 21 (old, but similar) / Belt- Charm School Vintage in ATX (similar) / Espadrilles- Chanel / Bag- B. Makowsky (similar) / Sunnies- Marc by Marc Jacobs

I'm trying not to spend as much on clothes this summer since I'm spending a lot on other things like camping, weddings, beach trips and music events. So instead of buying a new chambray dress (which I've been wanting for a while) I just took back the one I gave my roommate earlier this year. I also did that with this dress (worn as a skirt) a couple months ago. Technically I just borrowed them back. We do live together so she can still wear them whenever she wants... except when I want to, of course. I may even put this dress back in her closet. I'm such a good friend.

And it's better than buying a new dress, although I did just buy this vintage belt from Charm School Vintage, and maybe I also bought a purse and this vintage crop top, too. But at least I saved some by not getting a new dress... right?

Summer Solstice

Happy Tuesday! It's officially Summer now and to celebrate my friends and I threw a really fun Summer Solstice Party Friday night. There was a DIY flower crown making station, bubbles, chalk drawings and much, much more. These are a few details I shot with my camera. I'm trying to take my camera more places 1. To capture more moments and 2. To practice my photog skillz :) I hope your Summer Solstice weekend was as magical as mine.

Texas Style Council: Summer School 2013

Image via @txsc

Last year when I first started my blog the Texas Style Council conference was just about to happen in Austin. It was before I moved here and I didn't really know much about the blogging world yet. By the time I heard about it on Style and Pepper (Jessie is a speaker again this year!) tickets were sold out. BOO. So anyway, this year, I knew I had to be a part of it. I stalked Co-Founder Indiana's blog, and it finally came about a few months ago.

I can't wait to go meet a bunch of other people who share my same interests and understand this whole fashion blogging thing. It'll be my first blogger conference and I'll also be a registration volunteer meaning I'll pretty much get to meet everyone as they walk in the door!

Some of the amazing speakers include keynotes Elsie and Emma of A Beautiful Mess, Kendi of Kendi Everyday, Amber of rewardStyle and VENZedits, the aforementioned Jessie of Style and Pepper, and there will even be some local Austin bloggers like Jenni of Story of My Life, just to name a few!

Have I convinced you to come yet? OK well, there will also be a prom themed party, a clothing and book swap, several workshops led by the above and more, and lots of new friends to be made... And it's in Austin. The coolest city in Texas, and maybe America, in my opinion :)

Learn more about the conference here and register here. There are only a few spots left before it's full. I'd love to meet you. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments. I'd be happy to answer them!

I had to get pretty creative with this outfit to hide the weird farmer tan and sunburn I acquired over the weekend at Free Press in Houston. I've now begun to peel... love it. Happy weekend!!
