Happy Holidays!
I didn't get a chance to post these photos yesterday. I was too busy you know, eating, and napping, and watching movies. It was rough. Anyway, I hope you had a great holiday yesterday no matter if you celebrate Christmas or not. It was just really nice to relax and unwind before the new year! These are some photos of my Christmas decorations that I won't be taking down till afternoon the 1st. I will not have the holiday spirit ripped away from me just yet! Plus I'm not even back home from visiting family till the weekend so that's another excuse to be lazy and leave them up...
All photos by me.

Holiday Bar Cart Styling Tips
Happy Holidays! I've been so busy since Thanksgiving I can't even believe Christmas is next week! My roomie and I held a little Christmas/Dirty Santa party last weekend for our close friends, which means I finally forced myself to get our bar cart all set up. Isn't it cute?! My mom found the cart at a thrift mall in Justin, Tx for a ridiculously cheap price. It was already painted the turquoise color and I totally love that about it. The color perfectly compliments the rest of our living and dining decor. More home photos to come one day soon I hope.
So on to my tips... I want to give one BIG rule of thumb when setting up a bar cart for a party. Make it functional! I see tons of adorable carts on Pinterest and shit but so many have nothing on them that actually goes together if you are throwing a party. Giant coffee table books and lamps are super cute and all but they won't get you any closer to drunk! Just kidding :) But, for real, have some mixers and a good assortment of liquors, plus enough cups and/or glasses for your guests. What I loved about the way I styled our cart was that guests actually went up to it and were able to make their drink right there. This may sound creepy, but it's actually totally gratifying to watch people making drinks on the bar cart you styled.
And just one other thing. Since we are talking holiday bar cart styling here, add some cute holiday cheer. I used a mason jar and filled it with kisses and candy canes. I also kept the color scheme very "holiday" with mostly reds, greens, and golds. I incorporated the colors in my glassware and with some vintage-style Coca Cola bottles. You can't tell but they're the Christmas edition bottles with Santa labels on them. I was pretty thrilled about that little detail. Isn't it the little things that should make us most happy anyway?
Hope these tips helped and I hope you're having a great week. Ho, ho, ho for now.

And... Another Move
Yep, I've moved again. This is the 3rd time in my year living in Austin that I've put all my belongings in suitcases, boxes, recyclable bags, whatever else I could find to throw shit in, and changed locations. Really the first place I knew was going to be temporary, but the 2nd place I thought would be a little more "permanent" at least for a year or so. But, as moving into an apartment is always a gamble, lets just say that place was... unfortunate. I won't go into too much detail, but there was a bit of a bug problem if you know what I mean. So, my roommate and I packed up and jetted out of that situation after only 6 months and are now settled in our new home. Now I can sleep in my pretty little bed in peace :) I'll have more photos later once we've tidied the place a little more. We really like it so far and are crossing our fingers that the 3rd time's a charm. Wish us luck!

On the Hunt: Bar Carts
So I went a little crazy yesterday pinning photos of bar carts. I'm moving into a new place in about a month (EEK!) and am really jonesin' for one of these lovely pieces. They have such a chic, vintage vibe to them, which is just what I'm going for in my new home.
And, the obsession with getting a cart escalated when I ordered this shaker and four glasses from the Target + Neiman Marcus collection (on MAJOR sale still!!). I can't wait to put them atop my beautiful bar cart that I'm hoping to find this weekend at the Citywide Garage Sale here in Austin. Basically a giant flea market at the Palmer Events Center near downtown. If you're in the area you should stop by. I hear the prices are great. OMG! I am beyond excited. I'm also gonna be keeping an eye out for a record player. Wish me luck :)

DIY: Frame Your Shopping Bags
My first DIY on the blog! And it's a super easy one :)
I never know what to do with my old shopping bags. You know, the really cute ones you get sometimes... Don't you just hate to throw them away? Well, problem solved.
For this little project you'll need a shopping bag, (I also used that protector bag that usually comes with designer purses, which I never use those things anyway) frames, poster board, glue, tape, some scissors and a pencil for tracing. This is so easy, it really doesn't even need anymore explanation. Just cut your bag and the poster board to the size you prefer, glue and/or tape the bag to the poster board, then insert in your frame and voilĂ ! Easy peasy!
I hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial. I had a lot of fun doing this one, so let me know if you try it. Happy Weekend!
