Once Bitten Dress (on sale!), Boots and Backpack via Charm School Vintage, Brixton Hat

Good day darlings! I'm back from Nashville and although it was a jam packed weekend I feel so refreshed and ready to tackle this week. While I was away ACL was happening over here in Austin. I've gone to ACL a few times and while it's not my favorite festival I still appreciate it for many reasons. One of them being the fashion, of course. I'm a big music fan but an even bigger festival fashion lover. This little dress from my friends at Once Bitten is perfect for a Texas music fest. It's airy for the warmer days we are still having and comfy for lounging on the grass listening to your favorite bands. It's also the perfect outfit for my favorite festival that's coming up next month, Fun Fun Fun Fest. If you're looking for something to wear to your next festival you're in luck because I have a discount coupon for all my readers to Once Bitten! They've got so many great pieces for festival season. Use code pieceology15 to get 15% off your entire order now through the end of this month. Treat yo self! You deserve it.

Currently Coveting- Festival Goodies

Hi there. How's it going? Are you in full festival mode like I am now that Spring is in full swing (hello Jazz Fest this weekend)?! Well, if you are... or you aren't quite feelin' it yet, here are a few pieces to help you get a little bit more excited. They've all been swirling around in my dreams since the weather finally hit the 70s mark a few weeks ago. Seriously, FINALLY.

1. Forever 21 Romper - Fitted rompers are perfect to pair underneath something flowy and see through like...
2. Free People Romper - This romper which can be worn for so many different occasions. It's a swimsuit cover up, it's a sexy number for a night out with friends, it's a comfy, cool get up for your next festival frolicking from stage to stage, it's even pj's. Yep, do I even need to say it? I totally already bought it.
3. Free People Backpack - You can't go wrong with a leather embroidered backpack for all the free swag you'll accumulate + all the supplies you'll need while festing for hours in the hot hot heat (wow, remember that band???).
4. Pixie Market Bra Top - I'm really digging bra tops right now with interesting architectural straps. Another staple to wear under something sheer.
5. Pixie Market Espadrilles - If you're short like me or just want some extra height to see over the crowds while watching your favorite band a flatform is a smart choice. It'll give you inches without killing your feet after a full day of walking... and dancing of course.
6. Modern Vice Booties - I can't tell you how long I've been lusting over these booties. Those studs, that suede. So perfect. I think a bootie like this (or a cute pair of sneakers) is the ultimate way to go at festivals. They're comfy, cool, and will keep your feet protected from other feet, mud, sludge, puddles, dirt, grime, etc, etc, etc.

Happy festival season! What festival(s) are you going to this year?

P.S. Did y'all see the ACL Lineup? It came out yesterday morning along with tickets going on sale as well! I have to say I'm super pumped. Lana, Spoon, Jagwar Ma, Real Estates, Jenny Lewis, Phantogram, and my new obsessed Iggy Azalea (who just dropped her new album, The New Classic, yesterday) just to name a few. Maybe I already bought first weekend passes... Ok, who am I kidding? You know I did.

Music Edition: Fun Fun Fun Fest 2013

That's right. I'm going to another music festival. I'm extra excited this time around because Fun Fun Fun is by far my favorite and the line up this year is sick. It'll be my last festival of the year and what a way to to end the season! Here are a few of my favorite songs from some artists playing this weekend. Happy listening and Happy Hump Day :)

ACL Music Festival Style Inspo

It's almost time for ACL... So of course my outfits are already planned and this is pretty similar to what I'll be wearing on Saturday. It's going to be in the 70s! That's some perfect weather if you ask me. Especially for Texas. Meaning I'll be able to wear pants and a light jacket (gasp)... At least earlier and later in the day. Check back tomorrow for my Music Edition ACL playlist. Whoop!

1. Necklace- Vanessa Mooney, 2. Shirt- Rockabilia (similar), 3. Jacket- VELVET, 4. Backpack- Billabong, 5. Booties- Steve Madden, 6. Pants- 3.1 Phillip Lim (similar)

What to Wear: Music Festival Season

For outfit details check out this set on my Polyvore page

With festival season right around the corner (hello, Coachella in like a month... not that I'm going :( but still) and SXSW in full force here in Austin, I thought I'd put together a little essentials inspiration board. Let me break it down for ya:

Tops: A vintage (or vintage inspired) band tee, because duh. I don't have one yet, I'm a little ashamed to say, but I'm working on it. Peasant tops are a staple at festivals. Crop tops are cute and show a little skin which you will appreciate in July.

Bottoms: The classic jean cut-off is a must. Leather shorts give you some edgy coolness. Overalls are super comfy and if you've been wanting to try this trend but are kind of afraid to (like me) a festival is the best place. Trust me. There will be plenty other people wearing much more ridic get ups than you.

Shoes: Booties, flat forms, and sneakers are perfect for all seasons. I personally don't like wearing flat sandals to festivals. Festivals are usually out in the desert or in big parks so between the dirt and grass you should protect your feetsies. Sorry if that seems girly, but I'm a girl, so there.

For your head: It's hot and sunny for most of the season so wearing a hat not only looks cool, but also will shield your precious skin from the sun. You have no idea how much I want that floral cap! Dying.

Bags: Cross bodies and backpacks. Easy is key. No one wants to lug around a big ole purse. And I guess if you're one of those people who likes fanny packs those are also festival acceptable.

Jewels: Jewelry isn't super necessary, especially when it's hot and you're all sweaty, but it does add to an outfit. I think all of my options above could go without but I'm a jewelry slut so I had to add some fun Vanessa Mooney necklaces and rings. Her jewelry pieces are pulled straight out of festival goers dreams!

Alright friends! Hope these tips were helpful. Try to make it out to at least one festival this season. Even if you aren't a huge music fan there's always great food, great people, and good vibes!
